Dear Mr. Archive,
Please get your diaries/ organisers out and note these important dates in the CEF calendar and also some other events taking place in Cork.

CEF Dates:
15th September 2012  - Rebel Pedal,  Cork’s largest and most fun Family Cycle in the City, with an after pedal picnic near the Showgrounds. Further details to follow, however, if anyone is interested in helping with the stewarding please register your interest asap.

26th September 2012 – Stakeholder consultation “Collaborating for the Future” at the Lifetime Lab, 7pm -9.30pm. CEF was set-up inspired by the Rio Earth Summit of 1992, it is timely post Rio+20 to reflect on how CEF has performed in relation to its role as a Local Agenda 21 organisation. We would like your input to inform the objectives and goals of CEF going forward in continuing “to foster, promote and implement sustainable development in the Cork region”.

Glanmire Area Community Association hosts a public meeting tonight, 9th July at 8pm, on Creating Local Currencies. Glanmire, with its wealth of community and business organisations has all it takes to find and implement a system that works at a particular scale.

Charles Eisenstein & Mark Boyle will speak at an event at Camden Palace Arts Centre, Cork at 6.30pm on Monday, the 23rd of July.
Charles Eisenstein (author of the inspiring works The Ascent of Humanity and, most recently, Sacred Economics) is coming to Ireland for two speaking dates and will be accompanied by Ireland's own Mark Boyle (author of The Moneyless Man: A Year of Freeconomic Living)who famously lived without money for over two years. Mark is also the founder of The Freeconomy Community, which consists of over 25,000 people worldwide sharing skills and tools on a money-less basis.

Specifically, these events will focus on debates around truly radical economic alternatives which, in a time of crisis such as that which Ireland is currently undergoing, suddenly enter the realm of possibility.
