Dear Mr. Archive,
Some great events happening right such as Bike Week which ends with a Family Fun Cycle this Sunday, on Saturday a great opportunity to discover Science in a fun way in the wonderful setting of the Lifetime Lab at the Science Picnic and coming up in July and August demonstrations on logging with horses from Sandra Schmidof the Irish Working Horse Association at Manch.

It’s the middle of Bike Week, if you haven’t already had a chance to have a cycle why not consider joining in the Family Fun Cycle this Sunday from Ballincollig to Fitzgeralds Park. Meet at Colaiste Choilm at 10.45am, the Mayor of Cork County will see us on way. Refreshments, entertainment and music to be enjoyed after at the Park.

Today - Lunchtime Cycle:
City Centre – old railway line/Marina - meet outside City Hall at 13.00
Carrigrohane Rd/ Model Farm Rd – meet at County Hall at 13.00
19.30pm: Mystery History Rickshaw Tour, meet outside Library, Grand Parade
Thursday 21st June, 09.30
On Yer Bike Day – meet up with friends and colleagues and arrange your own cycle!
18.30pm: An Óige Midsummer Cycle, Cork - Robert’s Cove, meet Tesco, Douglas
19.00pm : An Óige Short Cycle, Cork – Blarney, meet Opera House

Free SCIENCE PICNIC at the Lifetime Lab. this Saturday 23rd June, 11am -4pm
Throughout the day visitors may become environmental detectives investigating interactive exhibits, follow the engineering trail around the old Victorian waterworks, participate in hands on science experiments at the learning zone, join in science magic shows, solve MathsWorks puzzles and build during the KNEX construction challenge.
Discover the garden of giant molecules and interact with Sir John Benson the 19th century Cork City Architect and Engineer At the creation station you can enjoy face painting, science painting, make and do and lots lots lots more activities are planned before you unwind in our playground & relax in our garden.

Sunday, 29th July 2012:
Logging demonstration at the Open day in Manch Estate/ West Cork

There will be another logging demonstration in Manch Estate where the Irish Natural Forestry Foundation is located (see for more details). Members are welcome to come along for the day, walk the wonderful mature woodlands on the estate and see Irish Cob Henry in action!

Saturday, 18th August 2012:
Taster course in horse logging on Manch Estate, near Enniskeane/West Cork

This course is intended for anybody who is interested to find out about the basics of horse logging. The course is offered FREE to IWHA members - booking is still necessary though. Please contact Sandra on 087 9389867 to find out more.
